On December 16th, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan officially announced the winners of the ENERGY CONSERVATION GRAND PRIZE (ECCJ). The TOSHIBA premium residential air conditioner (RAC), independently developed by Midea RAC team, emerged victorious after a rigorous competition and review process, securing the ECCJ.
Established in 1990, the ECCJ is an authoritative award in Japan's energy-saving field and an important international benchmark for measuring energy-saving technology. It serves as a crucial reference for major project procurement in Japan and for ordinary consumers when purchasing household appliances. The award review process is extremely rigorous, with a comprehensive evaluation of product performance, energy-saving technology, and innovative measures across multiple dimensions. Every year, all industrial enterprises in Japan (including home appliances, automobiles, and construction) participate in the selection, and the review panel consists of over 120 industry experts who conduct three different stages of review on the submitted products.
In 2024, more than 130 outstanding companies participated in the application for the ECCJ. With its leading energy-saving technology and excellent performance, the premium air conditioner developed by Midea stood out in the three rounds of review and was ultimately awarded the energy-saving grand prize. This award is a recognition and commendation from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan for the comfort, energy efficiency, and high performance of the TOSHIBA premium RAC product, and also an acknowledgment of Midea's R&D capabilities in residential air conditioning! This product is the result of Midea's R&D team's continuous 8 years of technical research and development iteration, and is a comprehensive winner of product performance and technological innovation.
