At the end of 2018, the leadership of the Midea group of companies laid the first stone of the Technopark in Soup Parner in the state of Maharashtra in Central India. The company invests $ 200 million in a new, modern production facility that will include household appliances, compressors and climate equipment for heating, ventilation and air conditioning. The area of the complex exceeds 275 000 square meters. It is expected that the technopark will work in 2020 and provide more than 2,000 new jobs.
Since 2007, Midea has built research centers in the USA, Japan, Italy, Germany, Singapore, Austria, Israel and other countries. In 2017, in India, the company launched a project called Green Field, which implies the development of local production of domestic and climatic equipment.
